The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has made their choices again...and again Jim Croce
is not on the list. According to the mail I've received on this the selection committee
is either
A) Stupid (There was a wide array of adjectives to describe them. This was the cleanest.)
or
B) Musically ignorant (As one writer asked - Was 'Itsy Bitsy Spider' the last song
they ever heard?).
As far as I'm concerned, I'll go with a combination of the two.
So the World Series is over and New Yorkers don't have to worry about the Yankees choking
again. That's because they are now the only team to blow a 3-0 lead in the playoffs. As
a side note to Fox TV...that was a great shot of Rodriguez picking his nose during the
seventh game. Keep up the good work.
Another part of the baseball playoffs and World Series has to be the commercials. I
never realized how many reality shows keep popping up every season. How about this for a
reality show. Let's have a politician take the place of an unemployed father (or mother)
of three who is three months behind on the bills and trying to keep Corporate America
from taking everything they have. On second thought the politician would probably make
it to the end of the show since they are the champions of liars.
And speaking of commercials...The Willie Nelson-themed jean commercial using 'Always
On My Mind' is great. Almost every man in America is laughing over that one.
Does anybody else think that Ashlee Simpson should leave the rewind switch alone?
Back to the series...Derek Jeter was asked, the day after his team lost game seven, if
he was going to watch the Series. He said that if his team isn't in it, he doesn't watch
it. I got it figured out Jeter...You're supposed to play when your team is in the
Series, not watch it. That may explain the last couple of losses that the Evil Empire
suffered to Arizona and Florida.
And congratulations to the Red Sox...I know after breaking my heart for forty years
I can finally say that Boston has the greatest team in baseball this year.
Thanks, guys.
On a closing note...
Do you think that one of the major oil companies will eventually come to their senses
and say, 'Hey, we've made enough money. Let's drop the gas prices back down under a
buck.'...Yeah, right...Only if they had a gun to their head...And then the all mighty
buck would probably win again.
